Congregation HarHashem’s Sudan Genocide Response Team asked the Colorado candidates brief policy questions on Darfur, and sent them to all candidates for Colorado Senate and for House Districts 2 and 4, in which many HHS members live. They offered a second chance to respond for campaigns that did not do so immediately. They explained that the results would be made available to a large number of people. Follow the link to find which candidates responded and the plans and sentiments they expressed.   http://www.congregationharhashem.org/pdf/DarfurLettertoEditors.pdf.

4. BE informed and inform others.  Sign up for email news updates (www.savedarfur.org) and/or action alerts (www.genocideintervention.net). Spread the word!

5.  LET local media-newspapers, radio, cable TV-know you want more Darfur coverage! Media coverage has helped improve some refugee camps and has increased diplomatic opportunities.

6.  SEND a letter or op-ed to our Boulder County newspapers.

7.  ASK religious and community leaders to speak to their groups about the crisis. Congregation Har HaShem has a Speakers’ Bureau and free video lending library to help. Go to: harhashem.org/sudan. Or call Boulder Friends of Darfur (Kelly: 720-284-4713) to arrange for a speaker, video, and/or people to sit at a table with Darfur information.

8.  HOLD a gathering at your home or community center and show the film “Hotel Rwanda” or “The Devil Came on Horseback.” Check out Darfur videos from Congregation Har HaShem’s Genocide Response Team (see above) or found at: www.genocideinterventionfund.org/educate/multimedia
